  • WW server issues (Ubuntu 14.04)

    I'm trying to setup a local WW map data server using Ubuntu. I used the build scripts found here: I can start the worldwind server and it says it's running but if I restart, it will not start again. The get capabilities for both elevation and wms seem to work (ie. http://localhost:8000/wms?REQUEST=GetCapabilities). However, I'm using WMSLayerManager to add layers but when I do, the elevation data is not appearing and I am only getting the Blue Marble image (which is all chopped up and incorrect). Has anyone used these build scripts and had success?

    I've built a server VM using the build scripts. I've used Ubuntu 14.04.1 64 bit.

    $ uname -a
    Linux ubuntu 3.13.0-32-generic #57-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 15 03:51:08 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
    The worldwind service is part of the system startup and runs just fine. The service can be stopped and restarted [sudo service worldwind (stop|start)]. The service also restarts when the system is rebooted.

    For installation of maps with WMSLayerManager, the target directory on the server is /usr/local/maps/WorldWindInstalled. WorldWind looks at this folder on service startup and will parse any maps dropped here. You may need to play with permissions when running WMSLayerManager to get the maps to load in the directory.
