  • Where can I download world wind server?

this page (http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/java/server/readme.html) introduce the world wind server, and may give the download URL http://builds.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov...ad-release.asp

But when I downlaod the worldwind-2.0.0.zip ,I don not find the world wind server.

So,where can I downlaod the world wind server?

Does the worldwind-2.0.0.zip contains thits software?

Do a 'search' in the forum for 'server.
IIRC there are other servers that may be better for you.
I don't use a server so do not know if a server is in the 2.0 WWJ download .zip

Like 'bnbplayer' I'm also looking for the world wind server and came across the readme.html (http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/java/server/readme.html)

However, the link (http://builds.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov...oad_server.asp) to the download location appears to be broken as it redirects me to the release page. (http://builds.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov...ad-release.asp)

And as mentioned by others the server does not seem to be part of the “World Wind Java SDK 2.0”?
So where can the server SDK be downloaded?

Otherwise, Is the server readme.html out of date?
If so, where can I get up to date information about using the Server SDK.

Try this link to the WW 1.5 source. It contains the server source in a package called "servers": builds.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/worldwind-releases/1.5/builds/worldwind-1.5.1.zip

If you need the server software, Landsat (15m) imagery and elevation data, together ~6TB (both in the public domain), you will need to contact Patrick.Hogan@nasa.gov

              Hi, Patrick,

is Landsat imagery now literally in the public domain, or does the license still limit it to use in WorldWind-based applications?

Landsat and elevation data are in the public domain. These two along with OpenStreetMap can give you pretty much the world you need to operate in. Pretty at cruising altitude and all you need to move around when up close.

Thank you all for your help. The reason I'm wanting to use WorldWind vs other server software is I'm working a project that requires me to use Digital Nautical Charts (DNC). And WorldWind is the only software I've been able to configure to use DNCs. So, I'm hoping that WorldWind Server SDK will also be able to process DNCs with a little effort.

Ruben, this is not a job for the server I am told, so there is no advice to give.

How have you been able to use the DNC ??
Have you been able to tile them or just import the images?

I found that the server was only available with worldwind-1.5.1.zip and not with worldwind-2.0.0.zip

                        http://builds.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov...wind-1.5.1.zip (client and server)
                        http://builds.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov...wind-2.0.0.zip (client only)

The post install scripts on GitHub (https://github.com/apwiggins/wwsetup) refer to dowloaded data in bmng200405.tar.gz for Blue Marble data and srtm30.tar.gz for elevation data.
                        Where can these be found?

The link to server isntallation instructions on this page http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/java/server/readme.html point to
                        http://builds.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov...oad_server.asp which does not exist.

Greg...If you run the scripts, these two tar.gz files get created. Once these gziped tarballs are available, it makes future installs shorter by eliminating the need to do these large downloads. It also permits offline installations in disconnected labs.

Please, do these downloadable files (specially elevation srtm30 file i guess) correct the erratic elevations WWJ has from place to place ? (here the shetlands) ?
                            Thanks
