  • License question: can I extract one method and use it in non-WW class?

I'm building an application that uses WW heavily. I usually import the classes that I need and go from there.

There is a method in one of the examples that I'd like to use. It's in a class that's an extension of JPanel, and I don't need the panel. I just want the method.
Can I copy and past that method into one of my own classes? If so, what conditions must be met (citing source, including license text, etc)?

I want to create a text input field into which the user can type a string in any of several standard formats, and parse it into a LatLon or decimal degree double, or some other standard usable format.

A method that seems to do this is computeLatLonFromString() in the example class GoToCoordinatePanel.java. If there's a similar method somewhere that is not part of a UI element class, please let me know. That would be even better.

    Gary,
Feel free to use any code you wish from the demo, that's all part of the NASA open source World Wind code base.
