Usually it takes a month (or so) for a new spot to appear in Rapid Fire MODIS, so if you want to check photos of recent events you need to use MODIS layers from JPL. Now it was really quick - 3 photos from Oct 23 are already there.

You can also use the MODIS Historical Images plug-in to view the fire from the first day. I don't think the Rapidfire imagery goes back that far.
