  • Locations with people visible

I found a park in San Francisco where people are visible:

Some people (dark smidges) in a swimmingpool:

Are there other locations with people in the image?

You should add those to the hotspot page WorldWind Hotspot finder

I can't quite locate it myself but you might try the Ka'ba inside the Al Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Globalsecurity.org has pictures taken from NIMA CIB, Space Imaging and Digital Globe. I don't think Landsat will get quite as close but you might see something.

I also recall seeing a satellite photo in the Guinness Book of World Records of the world's largest assembly of people, an annual religious festival in India, but that's about all I know about it.

Khumb Mela, (spellings vary) An annual festival, with a 12 yearly larger version, most recently in 2001, when about 30 million people attended and bathed simultaneously.
        See eg http://www.lonelyplanet.com/journeys/khumbmela/
WARNING - partial nudity if you're bothered by that sort of thing.

Also San Francisco but in a sportfield. Something I noticed when viewing this close: set your height at 0 (zero). Much less deforming of the terrain then.
They say that there is order in chaos ...
Well, my desk is in order then.
