  • Video hardware compatibility list

I'm running a tab on on which video cards/chipsets have been known to work or crash with World Wind. So far, everything is working just fine with the market leaders nVidia & ATI . Computers with built-in video, such as notebooks, has met a few exceptions though so I thought I'd ask World Wind users how it's going.

Please keep your submissions to stock when possible. (no overclocked, water cooled, modified drivers, and neat stuff like that, thank you)

      Hi,

I'm using a ATI Fire GL X1 128Mb video card running on a Windows 2000 machine. World Wind starts only after i disable the Direct3D Acceleration in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

      Regards,
      Vasile Craciunescu

S3 ProSavageDDR works fine apart from a few glitches when the view is 'tilted', but I can live with that

        Great program!

I have an Intel 830M in my Tablet PC and it just works, albeit a bit slow.

I'm using a PowerVR KYRO II. Works find until I tilt the view - the screen goes completely garbled with polygons everywhere.

Another user with the same integrated graphics is having problems. Maybe you could help him out in the Image Conversion thread.

The FireGL X1 128 is working now. I’ve updated World Wind to 1.2.1720.24886 and the video card drivers. One of this probably solves the case.

I've got an Intel 810 (latest drivers, albeit from 2002) and it does not appear to work. Hangs on "Initializing..." as reported by some other users in this forum, though they reported it with different video cards.

My Radeon 9800XT works great. It looks amazingly fast, smooth and crisp. No glyphs save for when I load too many usgs textures at the same time and that is just because of server lag.

Radeon 9800, screen goes completely black, then back on again, a couple of seconds or so each time. Seems to occur more frequently at larger elevations. Will experiment with various options. Dirext 9.0c, latest ATI driver, XP SP2, 1600x1200 via DVI to LCD.
