XaoS-like zooming

XaoS is an open-source Mandelbrot explorer. Though this has little to do with Earth (other than, I suppose, Mandelbrot's comparison of fractals to coastlines?), it does implement a great zooming system: While the left mouse button is down, it zooms in to wherever the cursor is. If the right button is down, it zooms out. If both are held, it lets you drag the view without zooming.

Currently, clicking slides wherever you clicked to the center. Implementing the above system, this would zoom in while sliding it to the center at the same time - much more natural, I think?
