Lightbulb World Wind Java compiling in Eclipse

Following in the steps of what_nick and using instructions found on this page (author unknown - update 4-03 : author is ghchinoy) i managed to compile and run the basic demo of World Wind Java in Eclipse :

Nice to finally see a spinning globe.

According to this other thread we will have to wait until mid december (and maybe later) before being able to contribute. In the mean time we can get acquainted with the project source and get ready for the grand opening.

I've managed to get everything in place under Ubuntu Linux (see my tale), but I don't get any globe when I run it. Does the current revision work for you?

Having problems? Make sure you have Managed DirectX and .NET Framework.
Then check the Video Card Compatibility List

Cool starting to look like WW

Wow- very cool, and very easy to build as per the instructions!!!

It spins, tilts, and zooms now - it also uses some system resources - to be expected I am sure

That was latest revision as of 12-09-06

Nice work NASA - can't wait for this thing to really be WW

Anyway, the SVN source has been deleted 'not to confuse' things with the 'true' WWJ that is presented (today ?) at the JavaOne conference.
The 'official' WWJ SDK will be up very soon on the NASA site.
