Default Timeline

I know timeline development has been discussed before, but has anything made it's way into WW? I would like to create several plugins all based on weather data. The plugins will all need to syncronise to the same time when animating, etc. It seems strange that WW doesn't have a generic timeline which all plugins can reference to. If I were to create a generic timeline plugin, how would each plugin get hold of the timeline? Is it just a case of giving the plugin a predetermined name, like "TIMELINE" and adding it to some list like the renderableobjects? That way each plugin which needs a timeline could find it. Is there a better way?

Unfortunatelly, your addon doesn't do anything I was talking about. I need to synchronise times between plugins in a standard way. When the time changes in the timeline plugin, all plugins which are monitoring the timeline plugin should update their view accordingly. The time can change in the timeline pluging programmatically or via a simple user interface. Your plugin is for world timezones which is unrellated to my original post.

It will require significant synchronization efforts and is not really general purpose. You can feel free to modify the code.
