Default Saturn

This addon includes Saturn, Patrick Murris's PlanetaryRings plugin, moons, feature names, and some physical properties of the rings.

Currently the additional ring data consists of:

Schematic ring diagram
Ring Temperature
Radio wave transmittance
A-Ring Particle Size
A-Ring Composition

These are activated by selecting the appropriate ring map in the PlanetaryRings cofiguration in Layer Manger (right-click PlanetaryRings and select properties, then choose the desired ring texture). Legends for these are turned on in 'Ring Legends' in Layer Manager.

This has been updated to Saturn 1.2: Link Here

Pangloss, did you get version 0.4 of the rings plugin ?
It turns off when viewing the moons.

Pat: Yes, I used v0.4 in the installer. It is very nice that the rings and Saturn turn on and off in tandem. It killed my new hack for putting all the moons in the toolbar, though. The idea is to turn the main layer on, but turn off all of the child layers. The individual moons could then each have their own icon in the toolbar. There are some other problems with this approach, so I don't know if it would have worked very well, anyway. Having the rings turn off for the moons is far more important, so the trade-off is more than worth it.

I wish that the alternate ring textures (temperature, etc.) could be selected somehow via the Layer Manager. Then all the appropriate components (labels, legend, links, etc.) could be turned on and off in a single operation.

Also, I think there is a legend tag in development, but I'm not sure where that stands. This will make the colorbars behave more gracefully. They used to remain in place when clicked, rather than rotate to screen center. That killed my old hack (sigh).
