Just loaded world wind, thought I'd take a look at Mt Everest in the Himalayas.... Typed Everest into 'Place finder' and get 4 US schools, 4 US churches and a US Cemetery.....not a single entry outside USA.......ummm what the heck is going on?????? Searching under Mount Everest is no better.....

Tried Tanna, a beautiful volcanic Island in Vanuatu (South Pacific) that I have been to.... doesn't exist either according to worldwind....

I thought this was meant to be an educational resource - how come you have Everest North Dakota (population ZERO!) but not Tanna, an Island in Vanuatu, Population 20,000. You don't even have Espiritu Santo where 100,000 US military were based in the second world war....

The placenames are a bit of a mess.

But I believe version 1.5 (or maybe the next 1.3.x release) will have a far better system.

Yep the placenames are not as complete as they could be, but if you want to find Everest just search the hotspots page http://www.worldwindcentral.com/hotspots/v...spot.php?id=163
