It could be (and it is probably) simple fields, except for some figures which look strange:

the circle, for instance:
(worldwind://goto/world=Earth&lat=47.74583&lon=117.23487&a lt=14373&dir=44.9) is not an usual form for fields ;

the jumping man:
(worldwind://goto/world=Earth&lat=47.76823&lon=117.26250&a lt=21702&dir=44.9) is strange too

Merci, Sacha, for your explaination proposal but I don't think it is the good one: if it was an old town, it should be one of the world greatests (because the area is very large). Anyway, the structure doesn't look so much like the one of a town.

I have searched and searched and all I can tell you is that it is in Neimenguu (inner Mongolia, China)(Hulun Buir, county?) to the east, the Lake is Buir Nur or Buyr Nurr. to the north east of our geoglyphs 34.7km on the bank of the lake where three roads meet is Asar. thats as far as i can get. if we were east of the lake, in Mongolia, there is lots of information for many, many sites. such as the khalkhin-Gol battle of 1939 fought in the area east of the lake. Mongolia has lots of interesting places and they don't mind sharing. but China is a secret.

I think it might be some kind of surface mining operation eg salt.

If you look around the strong pattern there are fainter ones which might be old disused areas.

And what do you think about this place
worldwind://goto/world=Earth&lat=48.02734&lon=117.47455&a lt=50347&dir=41.5

its not far to the north of the glyphs. Is it a city?

Interesting thing is also the border line with mongolia, which is very clear visible. It's probably the road.
