Using Worldwind 1.3.1.1.
I use the download progress monitor (ctrl-h) to see what happens on the downloads. I see several times an image downloading partially. Then it gets stuck for 5 minutes after which it times out. However the partially downloaded image stays in the cache. A next time the image is needed, it will not be downloaded again, so the corrupted image will stay. During the 5 minutes time-out, nothing else is downloaded either. The image IS available at the server. When I try to download a little later it completes without any problem. Problems/suggestions: - When the image is not fully downloaded, it should be deleted from the cache. - 5 minutes is a very long time-out value. - Would be good if from the monitor window the request could be stopped and restarted. |

You can press F5 to refresh the current view. Not sure why it's only doing partial downloads sometimes though...does the rest of your internet stop working at the same time?

By the way, what is the scope of pressing F5? It looks that Worldwind wants to refresh much more than the current view. Hans |

It should only refresh the current view....but the current view is defined as visible area + a bit more, so that it downloads more so you can view more quickly.
Can you press Ctrl+H and see what it's saying about all these timeouts?

Regarding the timeouts: In the monitor window (ctrl H) first comes a blue line, saying Receiving. E.g. I see here a tile T=105, L=3, X=659, Y = 506. It has a length of 112839. It says at a Position of 18839 for ca. 5 minutes. Downloading starts at 21:58:13 and at 22:03 (plus some seconds), it reports in red: The operation has timed-out. This time when I looked in the cache, the file was not there, but previously I had always that the partial file remained. I will continue to see when the partial file stays and when not. I would like to keep a log of all the download actions, and tried to set the option Monitor - Write Log. Setting seems to have no effect. I can nowhere find a log file. Where should it be? I this implemented? Thanks. |
