Ok, so taking what Progressland started with.. I have gone and created a finished add-on that you can use to get ALL the USGS Urban imagery and don't have to depend on terraserver anymore.

Here is a screen shot of the markers to show WHERE you can see the imagery.

[attachmentid=741]

To get to the later, open the Layer Manager and open the USGS Urban Areas (Direct) section. Listed are ALL the current areas covered my USGS, they date they were taken and at what resolution.

Download this add-on from here.

Excellent! The only things that seem to be missing are the new imagery for Helena and Wichita, which I edited into my original posting last night.

Actually, I see the layers are there; just the ortho markers are missing.

I cheated.. I took the old 1.2 add-in for the urban area markers and made it work in 1.3... I didn't update it

1.2 version will have all the markers in there. I am just tired of looking at the XML for the add-on.. it came in at.. 5619 lines tota.. WHEW!

Partly your add-on too.. if you want to teak the XML for the mistakes I made

Very cool addon, thx a lot!
But i have a problem viewing the Apr 2004 0.0762m Color SeaIslandGA Imagery.
It seems not to be 0.0762 resolution. Or is WW only not loading/displaying these tiles?
I can only see the normal usgs urban resolution. thanks in advance for your help.

Looking at the XML, it is refering to the right dataset on the USGS server..

Maybe the levels for usgs need to be tweaked? I remember back in 1.2 the urban area's were set to 6 and should have been 8.. maybe the same is true here? hmm.

Ok, there has been an update to this add-on.

Progressland has been busy making a couple of tweaks and here they are:

1) Changed the names for each layer, so the area is first, rather than the date.

2) Added the locator icon for each layer...rebuilt it from the ground up

3) Made the bounding boxes match the coordinates given in the WMS Capabilities file

The first one WILL affect your cache. The root folder's will have a different name. All you need to do is copy out of the old and into the new is all.
