Can a WMS server shapefiles as a groundoverlay?

So this means that the figures in Airspaces.java example cannot (currently) be sent from a WMS server?

Is the client able to read KML or GML from a different type of server?

(Any thoughts how to add it to the server/client? Does the WMS format already have a place to add this type of support but hasn't been filled out yet? I would assume the the mechanism used by the 'Political Boundaries' would be a good starting place, (unless thats an imageTile)? Is there a better place to start?)

Some WMS have the ability to handle shapefiles and output them in various ways. See GeoServer. GeoServer may be a solution for you. It is also an open source project so complements WorldWind nicely.

I'm currently tasked with implementing a WMS server and we specifically need to get shapefiles working with it. Has WW developed these capabilities since this topic was last responded to?
