I get the following exception during initialization.
When I choose to continue the app continues but the main part
of the screen never get's painted, and just takes on the background (desktop).

World Wind v1.2.1720.24886
World Window v1.2.1720.11954

This is on a Dell Latitude laptop with ATI Mobility M3 video adapter.

Delete everything in your cache directory and then open it.

I get this every time I open the program and the only way to get in is to clear the cache, this is not a very good state of affairs as I don't want to download everything each time I open it up.

If you reboot you don't have to clear the cache. But that seems like more work than redownloading the data to me

Thanks for the suggestion, but this does not seem to be related to my issue.
There is nothing in the cache yet. (Which makes sense since I had this problem
right from the beginning. Ever since I installed it).

Furthermore, the error messages seem to indicate more of an issue with the particular videocard.

I'm going to try to reinstall DirectX, maybe that will help.
Any expert feedback?

If you look around this is the same error everybody else is reporting (myself included):

In my case and apparently the cases of many others deleted the cache or rebooting fixes the problem. It comes back mind you, but deleting the cache fixes it temporarily. I feel bad for you if this workaround doesn't fix your problem.
