New to WorldWind here, but being an engineer and having a last name like Rockot, you know I just have to love it...

I was wondering if there are any instruction manuals available for writing XML scripts... even something as simple as a cheat sheet that tells what tags are available, with a brief description of what they do.

I tried going to the Wiki site and the Hotspots site I saw listed in another post, but both seem to be dead links.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim Rockot

The only way I learnt how to write the scripts was to look at the demo scripts that are available with 1.3.1 in the script folder. Download the script that takes you around Australia, that was one of my first attempts.

Other than that just come back to the forum.

XML files can literally be anything you want them to be. What do you want to do in WW? I can probably give you instructions on how to work with just about any of the XML files if you give me time to fiddle.

Thanks,

I did that. And I can get some simple scripts to work, but changing the viewing angle doesn't seem to work right.

Plus I would like to know what other tools are available.

I saw your fly-around, by the way. Nice work!

I am mainly interested in just controlling the flight path of the camera. Changing viewing angles (such that ic an appear that you are flying along a river, or such) would be nice. I thought the viewing angle settings would work. But they don't seem to do anything.

BTW, it takes a sick mind to memorize pi to that depth. I commend you.

You are not able, as yet, to change the camera angle away from the vertical in a script.

Second: Which workflow (tools) do you prefer for Scripting?

Thanks a lot Andi
