Default NOAA charts and WMS

Hi,

I am relatively new to WorldWind, and I am trying to overlay NOAA navigational charts on my application via a WMS server. I am using the code from the WMSLayerPanel and WMSLayerManager to get the information from these servers: http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/maps/interactivemaps.html. However, no matter which server I pick, my application cannot find it.

I have also tried hosting the XML WMS files locally on WorldWind's WMS server. However, although the server can find the files, it does not display the layers. I usually get this error in Netbeans:

gov.nasa.worldwind.wms.Capabilities getLayerLatestLastUpdateTime
WARNING: Error parsing value

Has anyone encountered this problem before? Is there a possible solution or work-around?

Here is a thread that explains how I did it for the FAA Sectional and TAC charts.

If you clip, merge and tile them first you can serve them much faster than using a WMS.
It is more work though.

Thanks nlneilson, I'll give that a try.

However, one of the requirements of my project is that it is able to connect with a WMS server (specifically a WMS protocol), download the required NOAA navigational charts, and then be able to display them offline.

Do you know anyone who has attempted anything like this?

You might find this useful.

We have a WMS and WFS of the Electronic Navigational Charts. PM me, it might be easier to do a phone call, its a complicated answer.
