Is there anyway to configure WW 1.3 to launch in full screen mode, without the toolbar? Switches or config file edits?

I work in an Air Mobility Command passenger terminal (USAF), and I want to build a table style WW kiosk to place in our children's area of the passenger waiting lounge. Having the program launch into full screen mode without the toolbar would make my life easier. I could have WW launch automatically (startup folder or run in the registry), and any passenger service agent could reboot the system as required, without training on how to setup the screen for unattended use.

Thank you

Steve

Hmmm. Interesting use of WW. I am not 100% sure though...

A quick look though the XML config files doen't show anything.. It DOES remember if you have the toolbar off. It doesn't remember fullscreen mode though.

Could be something easy to modify.. I'll ping the devs and see what they say.

Ok, just taled to the devs.. 1.3 doesn't have full screen options. But 1.3.1 WILL have that.

Would be a command line /f to open WW in full screen mode.

Thank you. Our terminal is essentially a military airport, with 5-20 flights a day going to all corners of the globe. AMC's motto is "Global reach for America", and having a WW based, educational "entertainment" device with a Global theme just might be a hit. All we curently offer kids now is a TV and a aviation themed play gym. Sometimes these families have to wait days for a flight.

I am equipping the tabletop kiosk with e-bay sourced arcade buttons and trackball, for projected "abusability". Of course, a NASA credit for WW will be incorporated into the monitor surround graphics somewhere!

Thanks again,

Steve

If you are using Windows XP right click on World wind Icon, click on properties, click on Run box and set to maximize, click on apply and close window.
Hey Presto World Wind in full screen opening. It won't work with the World Book add on by Skall. Happy wandering from Dave in UK.

Sorry forgot to say you can hide the buttons with control/T. Perhaps you can write a batch file or similar to start it. Dave

Hello. As TomServo pointed out, the program remembers the toolbar turned off from the previous session. That works great (thanks). The "full screen" I am going for is the same as hitting "Alt-Enter": no menu bar whatsoever. Kids (or bored adults) will find a way to break things if one lets them. I want to remove all opportunity for that to occur. I have some experiences with this when I developed an passenger information kiosk. If is "locked down" now so the typical user cannot access other areas of windows to screw things up...

Aloha, and have a great day,

Steve in Honolulu

You could always come to the great sun state of Washington.
I still wonder how they managed to get all those pictures during the 5 minutes a year we don't have cloud cover... :P
