Note that this WMS layer is a bit dated (how much i cant tell) compared to the mercator version you see in the 2D interface on the OSM site. I wonder what is their update policy regarding this version.

You may also consider having a layer for the 'regular' osm-4326 layer (non hybrid), on white background - which can be pretty nice with shading:

Default low res?

Hi, the layer seems to work fine, but I get very low res unless I'm completely zoomed in. (see pic)
Also, Is there a way to get only the streets without any other label or city names?
And finally, is WWJ going to include street layers in the next version or do you have licensing problems?

thanks!

Lele

The layer should load finer levels when you zoom in and maintain a relatively sharp resolution at any moment, untill you zoom past the finer level. Maybe you had network issues at that time?

About selecting the map features, this is not possible with this WMS layer. Only one raster layer with whatever has been rendered onto it - which is a bit dated. Two versions though: hybrid which maps over the underlying layer or 'regular' on a white background.

It should be part of the coming SDK 0.5 release.

Default not sure I get it

Hi, I'm not sure we are talking about the same level of resolution. I went to www.openstreetmaps.org and they look absolutely fantastic. please have a look at my screenshot over Stockholm (Sweden).

However, if I use your WMS layer I don't get the same result. (Should I?) Has the quality been intentionally reduced for copyright reasons? Please post a screenshot of what you see around Stockholm just for comparison..

thanks a lot!

cheers

I've tried and indeed it seems I'm seeing more or less the same things you posted, so no detail are lost (see below).

BTW, Pat, I've disable all the layers (i3 included) and I'm see a strange thing: things on the border of OSM tiles are "protruding" towards the Earth's center.

Looking better, there are actually some small differences. For instance, texts seem to be stretched vertically.

These are "struts"
They're used to hide holes between 2 tiles that do not match together.
Good for global and opaque layers, but not for small areas and layers with transparancy
