1.2e to 1.3 Cache folder

I think the Cache folder structure change with the 1.3 version...
Can you please indicate the modifs. for use the 1.2e Cache folder
after 1.3 update. Thank's for you great work...

As far as I see, are the tiles saved as JPEG but named as DDS, like Llynix suggested in this thread.

The tiles are now for each latitude in a different folder, a fine innovation.

I don't know exactly how the converting will work, the best thing would be a script that convert the DDS files back in a JPEG file and seperate the tiles by Latitude. If this converting script would be included in World Wind and automaticly run after update, it would be beautiful.

My cache folder is about 9 or 10 GB big right nnow, so I really hope there will be some sort of conversion tool...

No. Currently 1.2 cache will not work in 1.3.

It's a matter of little tool to convert old cache to new one (I think). It should be so simple that I could do it myself if there wouldn't be any "official" support soon.

For now, I just put my 10GB cache on my backup drive. I hope there will be a tool very soon!

I think someone already did a small app for an alpha build, perhaps that person could covert their script for 1.3 full.

For those who want cache at this point, it is really just a matter of copying and pasting correctly. A few directories got changed around so you have to do it 'right' but someone should be able to figure it out.

I don't think that the different directory structure will be a problem, they directories are relative to the NASA directory and the files could be moved to a different directory.

What is needed is the file format in which World Wind 1.3 saves the tiles, I tried to reconvert the DDS file in a JPEG file and to rename them to a DDS file but World Wind 1.3 didn't load this tile.
