landsat server

Hi:

New to WW and it's great....

Having what seems to be a not unique problem...

Getting 'Problem connecting to server - try again in 2 minutes' ..error
When attempting to use Landsat 7 option..

All else works in my installation - which is about 2 days old...

I've gone throught all relevant existing threads and taken the advice
found there concerning proxies (don't have) -newest software version -
..tried analogx for port..........have run Ethereal...... shut down Norton anti-virus

All to no avail.

I'm confused......there is a post today(02/20/05) indicating the landsat server is down and there is a posting from 'Lucian' in a previous thread that says

"- Use IE to connect to http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov (landsat server), and click on one of the images.
If the map browser loads the image, then the server is working."

----I can do that but still can't connect.

Any comments or advice appreciated..

Indeed you are correct. All the publicity is hitting us literally days before the new farm is due online.

Use Nowak's proxy for now - simply run this:
