I am trying to download and parse .bil files in java from the NWW server, but I am getting confused about the compression formats. I have read on this forum that the .bil files are compressed using the 7-zip format, and I find that true for some files, but not for all. It seems to me that some files are compressed using another decompression algorithm(not sure which...).
I have also been browsing through the code in NWW java version and I am not able to find any code for decompressing 7-zipped files. Are there two different types of datasets on the NWW server, and in that case, how do I locate the .bil files that are not 7-zipped. All help is appreciated. |

WWJava uses zipped bils (dataset name: srtm30pluszip).
7-zip (srtm30plus) was for .Net version, which now uses zip too. |
