Default Moon and Mars maps

These are WMS maps from the PIGWAD (there must have been a hell of a brainstorming session the day they named that project) project for Mars and the moon. There is lots of information on geology and other types of exploration. The WMS query plugin can tell you lots more information than what you can see in the maps. The server can be extremely slow, so be patient when you turn a layer on.

Download and unzip into your WW directory.

The results from the WMS query makes me want to implement WFS and associated data querying system. Anyone behind me on this ?

There is already quite a lot in the WWJ SDK that would make a very decent application.

WMS support, pop up balloons, stereo viewing, instant topographic and bathymetry profile, other planets... all available cross platform via an applet or a JWS... Throw in a couple contributions too...

Someone has to put it together though. But it is still a bit early in the SDK development cycle to start building something other than a prototype IMO.

Maybe we could have a demo application that would just give access to some of the WWJ SDK examples...
