Default No Images downloading\no connection

Hello, Perhaps someone could lend a little help

Operating system: win7
world wind version 1.4

The program installed just fine, It launches just fine (albeit a little slow).
however, it doesn't seem to want to access any more detailed images than just the base-map. The download monitor gives this message:

Start time: 10/17/2011 22:17:37
Total download time: 00:00:21.0322030

Progress: 0/0 bytes
Status: Unable to connect to the remote server
Proxy: http://worldwind25.arc.nasa.gov/wwel...p&L=2&X=4&Y=31

Response headers:

I tried enabling the program to run as administrator, and I tried disabling the firewall.

Thanks in advance for any help. :-)

is there any estimate of when it will be back online?

So this will be the case from now on? The server can be down without any notice or schedule?

thanks

I'm also having this problem, so I guess the servers aren't back up?

I posted some xml code that will allow the old client to read some imagery from the available WMS servers, and Maleport posted some code modifications and a replacement earth.xml that will allow reading the SRTM data from the NASA WMS. See the changes here.

Hello everybody,
Well I will try to explain my problem, and I hope that someone will be able to help me : I am geologist and I use World Wind 1.4 on Windows XP, with a .XML file from the BRGM (the french USGS). For some years, it was perfect : I was able to fly over the geological map of France, and WW1.4 downloaded many .dds files that I kept. At this time, I've got 3.47GO of geological DDS, covering parts of France. But suddenly, there was a message saying "problem connecting to server... trying in 2 minutes", or something like that. I wasn't able to get more fore months (even for years in fact). And last summer, the server was working again : I kept my computer in use on WW1.4 for 2 weeks, in order to get more .dds, and working off-line if the server get down again. And now, it's almost one year that I can't get anything.
I don't know how the servers works, and I know very few in programming. All I want is to be able to get the geological maps from the BRGM; I don't know if I have to pass throw a NASA server and then to their server. When I asked BRGM some information, they never answered me.
I tryed with and without my firewall, on another computer with XP SP3 too, at the office, at home : nothing ! I can't connect to the "server"
So...? What to do ?
Thank you in advance for your answers.

precision :
Windows XP SP3
.net framework 2 (and I think their is although 4)
firewall look'nstop
graphic card NVIDIA Geforce 8 600 GT
core 2 duo
4Go ram

Those servers are down, and they don't seem to be coming back up. Check this thread for a fix:
