Hi,

it is not under xxxx\data\icons I know there are two files there startup.png and startup.dds but I allready edited those and I still get the original splash screen

I also looked inside of the executable to see if it was stored within but no luck

I am trying to replace the original startup bmp for a cool shot that I have in my cache that I have formated to the same dimentions as the original splash screen.

Does anybody know where does WW store it's splash screen bmp file?

Thank you!

You'll have to re-compile the program to change the screen. It's part of it.

Hi Llynix,

I just want to clarify that I am talking about changing the startup screen picture, the one the pops up for a few seconds right before the aplication starts, the same one that comes up when you click "about" under the help menu.

I am not much of a programer, so I would like to ask you, Is it a matter of openning the executable with a c++ compiler and once I am inside I will see a picture that then I can replace? or all I am going to see is binary code that I would have to know what I am doing  in order to localize the instruccion set for the splash screen and type in new binary values?

in other words is it easy or hard

Thanks!

It's trivally easy if you know how to do it. But if your not a MS programer I think it would be more difficult. There may be a way to hack a resource file.

Or perhaps you could post the picture somewhere on the net and ask real nicely. Maybe someone who can compile it will with your pic.
