For the curious, here are some samples of the new Landsat tiles we're working on:

Being curious
I took a look.
Quality looks great. Be nice if the whole world is covered with this much detail
Some of the last ones looked like "the great wall of china".
Don't forget that "always on top" feature - please!

It's the Landsat dataset, not USGS (which is U.S.-specific), so the detail will apply to the whole world..

Wow, looks much nicer than the current dataset. What zoom level are these? Or are they just all mixed up?

At Nowak's World Wind Blog, http://blog.ww.xpam.de, you will find the beta for World Wind 1.2 e with "alway on top" feature and fullscreen modus.

The first number of the filename (in /dev/landsattest) is the level number. So ls-2-127-198.png is at level 2..

Have downloaded 1.2 e patch. Thanks for the improvements especially "always on top" and mouse zoom features. Now we just need the new landsat dataset and access to a few more GIS servers!

'Im "grottie yachtie" creating a cruising DVD .
Worldwind came along at the right time to be very useful.

I have no programming experience.
Could some one tell me if it would be very difficult to overlay the moving map
navigation software directly on world wind data - landsat, photos, or topos.
or even use NOAA's enc tiles as an overlay.
At present, its good to be able to use world wind in a window "on top" of
conventional navigation software.
