Hello,

I'm trying to get the images of the earth at night feature in the animated Earth, but it always tells me - downloading, converting... and nothing happens. I also haven't found the "converted" images in the Cache directory, so my first guess is that they never are converted. I tryed it a lot of times, through the animted earth feature, and the WMS tool, but it just won't work. I even tried the bugfixes for the conversion problems mentioned in the suppor forum, with no effect. (well, they were ment for win98 / me but i gave it a try...)
I'd be happy if anyone could help.....

Machine:
IBM T40p,
WIN XP PRO (no sp2)
dx 9.0c (installed with world wind 1.2d)
ATI Mobility Fire GL 9000

Thanks, Stephan

Could you check if there are any .txt files in your WorldWind directory that start with DEBUG
If so, please paste/post them here

Hello,

Yes, there are 3 .....debug.txt files, two which only contain errors which are related to download timeouts, I guess they won't be of use... (dload_debug.txt and DEBUG_webdownload.txt )

ae_debug.txt:
=========

PS: The night view of the earth finally works, without doing a thing on my machine or in world wind, but the same problem persists with other "pakets" for the animated earth feature, e.g. "Urbanization around the Pearl River Estuary in China from 1973 through 2001". - Maybe the problem was server-based, but i don't think so, because no one else mentioned problems with the night view. Well, maybe I just have to be patient and wait for the magic...!

Thanks for any help, Stephan

As you might have figured out, you were out of memory :P
WorldWind can take up a lot of memory, so try closing any other running programs
