Well, if you're using the EROS Ortho Direct, all the options are listed. For normal Ortho (What you're probably using), it depends where you're looking in California (or Massachussetts, for that matter). For a list, check the FAQ (link below).

Having problems? Make sure you have Managed DirectX and .NET Framework.
Then check the Video Card Compatibility List

Tell me which of these is the right one:

And I'll get it in the queue to download and process

From the list of free orthoimagery on WWC i can see there's much PD imagery for all over the world. So why are there only Places in USA on the list at
http://worldwinddata.com/seamless/status.php?
That's the list of things you are processing next?
USA ÃÂ*s high-res already! I think the rest of the world is more important to be processed.
Please let me know your Opinions

That page is the USGS Seamless imagery library list, essentially high-res imagery for the US, about 10Tb worth...slowly being downloaded and processed for the cluster.

The Wiki list...I think lots of the imagery on there either isn't available to put into World Wind or will be slower to obtain than the USGS stuff. F0urtyfive can explain more but he's away until Monday.

There is some non-US stuff (Robben Island, Johannesburg, South Africa (coming soon)), so it's not beig ignored

There's also the possibility of obtaining imagery from <a satellite imagery company>, so it doesn't make much sense to process non-US stuff with that possibility being negotiated

Looks like either Los Angeles area includes the area that shuttle watcher wants. The first (more recent) one is larger, though, so maybe do the smaller one, then the larger, depending on how long ~700 tiles will take.

You might try calling your city Engineering or Planning Department. These days, most cities have color orthos of their area and they might be willing to help you out since it's for school.
