Thumbs down

Hello,

With GPS2WorldWind you can:
- display your existing tracks and routes in WW
- display your existing waypoints in WW
- create new tracks and routes with WW
- create new waypoints with WW
- transfer waypoints, routes and tracks from/to your Garmin GPS device (see "Supported Devices" below)
- realtime GPS tracker (NMEA over RS232 or Garmin USB )
- follow existing tracks in WW with a script like a helicopter
- import tracks, routes and waypoints from GPX, PCX5, OZIExplorer and WWB.
- Load bitmaps (JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF,..) with or without ESRI files as map overlay.
- reduce trackpoints
- ...

You can download the plug in from http://www.kaufi.ch. You can use ist for free.

Because there will be a lot of changes, I added an update notification. This update notification doesn't transfer any dates about you or your computer to the internet. It only asks a webserver which version actually is available.

I like to drive offroad by motorbike. With this add-on I can prepare my trips and after a trip I can follow the track in WW like in a helicopter.

There is still a lot to do, please send error reports or suggestions to me.

Supported Devices:
The following devices are tested to work with the plug in:

- GPSMap60CSX (Firmware V3.0 or newer)
- GPSMap76CSX (Firmware V3.0 or newer)
- ...

If your device is not listed, you help me to add support for your Garmin USB device. Start the Plugin, power on the USB Garmin device and click to the menu {GPS}, {Check USB Device} to create a "Check Log File" of your device. Send this "Check Log File" to me by mail (info@kaufi.ch). As soon as possible, I'll check the log file and add support for this device.

Thanks,
Greysi

Very nice work. B)

But for now I am going to move it to the add-on development forum since it isn't 100% ready yet

Hi TomServo

This Software will never be 100% ready. All features whicjh are implemented will work (I hope so). I have a lot of ideas of features which I will realize in further versions. That's why I think the add-on development area isn't the right place. Please move the topic back to the "Add-ons & Scripts".

Thanks,

Greysi

No, you don't need a GPS device.

Hello,

I have tried your add on. But I can not see any tracks.
Goto will move to somewhere in Switzerland ( I tried your example) only.
GPS Tracks and waypoints are toggled visible in the layer manager.

Hi

I know, I should write a manual...

In WW 1.3.1.1 you have to enable the Color-Layer first (sub item of GPS-Tracks) and then enable GPS-Tracks (or GPS-Waypoints). So you need to know in which Layer you exported the track in GPS2WW. For the sample track i suppose Yellow, Cyan or Red.

1. In GPS2WW choose the color/layer in the toolbar
2. Export the track to WW
3. Double click the track (or Goto Track from te Track-menu or Goto Track from the Context menu). WW goes to the start position of the track.
4. In WW 1.3.1.1 Layer Manger you have to activate the color and after that, enable "GPS-Tracks" (or "GPS-Waypoints" if you export waypoints). In WW 1.3.2 or newer the layer will be enabled automatically.

Hope this helps!
