Aha! Thanks!
edit:
It doesn't seem to work: I see all the city markers, but when I zoom in, no imagery is loaded...
Open the layer manager and then the Complete Urban Layer add-on, then slect the city you want to see.

Otherwise, you can end up with some "funky stuff" happening

Hello TomServo,

I added the Eros Orth. Urban... to my 3.1 world wind and I seem to have a problem.
I go into layers & check the cities I want to see and then when I go to the city it kinda shows up. It looks real freaky, breaks apart like a puzzle and wrinkles up like a piece of crunched up paper. There are theses strange holes all over the cities. IT is like a piece of the city gets the layers & other parts of the city do not because they are blurred and at a lower level then the parts you can see. When you move down to the city it looks like a rock that was dropped into water and oil. Everything is moving and breaking apart, then disapearing and then partly coming back. Constant motion.

Can you help me with this please!

Thank you

Rick

You need to make sure that the USGS Urban Area (Direct) is the ONLY layer that's on (no Landsat, USGS Topo, etc.) Also, if you have two layers that are adjacent to one another (say Chicago which has 9 layers), you can only have one of them selected at a time or the weird artifacts develop. But if you select a Los Angeles layer and a Chicago layer (only one of each!), I don't think you'd have any problems.

i ve got 4 questions ...

1. is there any way to have those usgs urban with at choice terra server or other server in the same worlwind ?

2. is there any chance taht as the landsat imagery, we could in the futur get some cache cpack for usgs iamgerie ?

im so confuse between :
- usgs imagery
-Ortho Imagery v1.3 Complete

3.does any of this has something to do with usgs iamgery :
SRTM 30 US Level 0,1,2,3,4\
SRTM 30 US Level 5\
SRTM 30 US Level 6\
SRTM 30 US Level 7\
SRTM 90 (World) Level 0,1,2,3,4\
SRTM 90 Level 5\

4.for the numbers level , when we make the number bigger ( like from 8 to 13) is it downlaoding a better quality image from upper layer or is it just taht the program is zooming and interpolating the image ?

You've got it exactly right--it's from the same source (USGS), but it's more complete because it's all the imagery that they've released. It downloads directly from USGS, rather than going through a middleman (TerraServer). It's significantly slower to download from USGS, but for some of the imagery sets, it's the only option! For other sets, where there's only been one set flown and it's on TerraServer, there's no reason to use this add-on to get that imagery.

Just override the XML is all you would have to do.
