I can read on NLT files "version 15-4-2005". Why this files have this version? Is nasa still proccessing this data set?

What are the files format in this zips files? dds or jpg?
Hi cobito!

.jpg's. Have a look at this post. So that you'll never suffer from .dds-files again.

I don't believe the NLT set will be reprocessed soon, so these downloads are safe.

Good luck downloading. And uploading...

Steven.

Cool

Maybe, someone could split this huge file into smaller pieces, so we can better organize our downloads. (We have 3 accounts with limited download transfer).

thanks steven!

I put together 5 cache packs - and a new one

NLT Level 2 - Southern Hemisphere will follow shortly.
GREAT work! Thanks!
I will keep BitComet open again, but I still have to keep an eye on my upload limits...

svheuven, you are doing a good work.

Will you make more cache packs?

C:\Program Files\BitComet\Downloads\WorldWind 1.3 Landsat 7 NLT Level 2 - Northern Hemisphere - Version 20-04-2005.zip: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged

The strange thing is that I can open the file perfectly with WinRAR. The error occurs only when it starts to extract the files.
Am I the only one with bad luck?

Uhoh
My spider sense tells me that it is a f*#!up.
The zip file format only supports 2GB Archive size, so this zip is either the product of a faulty compressor or some extension of the basic zip format. Try 7zip or the newest official winzip, maybe they have extensions.

WinRAR gave me the above error,
Windows XP could read the .zip file (but with some errors), but would need more than 3 hours to extract it.
WinZip, however, did the job perfectly!

Thanks for the help!

Hi guys,

I packed the files with WinZip 8, which didn't give any problems...
Decompressing works fine as well here, takes just several minutes.
Guess it's just a WinRAR problem then.

Let me know if any troubles turn out to be serious... Good luck! Steven.

The problem is that its bigger than 2GB, so all "classic" zip supporting programs like powerarchiver, uha, older winace and winrar version, should fail opening. When im finished with the file, i will check my collection of archivers to see which one works besides Winzip8.

Hm
Neither winace nor winrar can open the file, so i would suggest to either make more than one zip file <2GB each or use rar files. (you know that one torrent can contain more files without problem?)
