Bad Aero, or how to boost performance with WW in an RCP app

Hi, all-

I've been hanging around the forums to gather advice, and I just wanted to share my experience, in case anyone else finds it helpful.

I've been working on incorporating WW into an in-house RCP app and was running into some serious performance issues. On Windows 7 64-bit, with a simple, one-layer globe, my WWGLCanvas was reporting ~200-300FPS, but I was seeing 0-4FPS. At the suggestion of a co-worker, I disabled Aero. Now it is keeping a reported and visible 60FPS.

So, if anyone else out there is dealing with weird performance issues, try disabling Aero.
