Google maps data in WW?

I have seen that there exists applications that access the google maps data. From a quick look it looks like it can be done by using x,y,z variables and http://mt.google.com/mt?v=v.3&x=${x}&...6;{y}&zoom=&{z} for the maps. For the satellite images it seems like it can be done by
http://kh.google.com/kh?v=3&t=$googlename where $googlename can be found from longitude, latitude and zoom level like described in http://www.piterpen.net/googleMap.pl. Would it be possible to do something like this to project the google maps data on the surface of the globe in WW, to get google maps and satellite images?
I am not sure if google actually allows 3rd party applications to access their data in this way, anyone else know?

Yes it is possible to do, but no it is not legal as it violates googlemaps ToS, I asked them myself when the google maps API came out, and they said it wasn't allowed.

Yes.. and you can use it in your web page all stripped out as well.. o.0 Me thinks the Google ToS was thought out by monkeys. B)
