I've been searching around for others who have implemented real-time (local sensor) AIS and Radar. I read up on capcode, and have seen a number of people saying this has been implemented (AIS at least), but I can't really find much info on it. My goal is to tie in my current shore based radar (Furuno, ric standard processor) and AIS and paint real time data on WW. Of course if someone has already done part of all of this kind of thing, I don't want to have to reinvent the wheel. Thanks in advance!

First you need to pull out the lat, lon, alt and if available the ID.
Then you need to figure out how to feed that into your WWJ app. I have found it best to feed in data in one second intervals, NOT when each signal is received. |

I've been looking at some of the GPS plugins, which would be very similar to AIS (my AIS receiver reports both AIS and GPS data). Radar will probably be significantly different. I don't see any reason this shouldn't be feasible, and even pretty simple. Again, still trying to gather preliminary info before I dive into the code. I'll post some results when I start though. If anyone else on here has messed around with this sort of thing let me know about it though. Thanks.
