Hi All,
Has anyone noticed when using the KMLView demo and loading a KML file it requires lots of memory (over 500MB) else you get a out of memory error from the jvm? Strange I can load over 25 layers and take less than 300MB yet a single KML file can consume most of a users free memory. I am hoping I just need to update my wwj worldwind jar. I am using build 84 jar. Regards, -Tony |

I measured Google Earth and it goes from 136M to over 1GB then when it renders it drops down to 334MB. KMLViewer starts out at 110MB and goes to over 550MB when the kmz file is loaded. It has over ten layers you can select from to view. Of course one layer by default by the KML file is viewed.
I noticed when I added another kmz file another 50MB is used on google maps. I will look to see if there is any memory optimization that can be done using WWJ and KML. Regards, -Tony |

I downloaded the latest build of 1.2 and ran KMLViewer and got the same results. Will try other kml files to see the results and look at the WWJ source to try to understand better what is happening.
