Yet another update of http://onearth.jpl.nasa.gov/OnEarth.xml . Four extra layers, also updated daily. Now there are visual, 721 and ndvi for both TERRA and AQUA MODIS, six daily updated layers. I think I changed the names of the layers, so you might have to erase the previous cache folders.
The update schedule is a bit different, it starts around 10AM GMT with TERRA visual, and proceeds every two hours or so with AQUA visual, TERRA 721, AQUA 721, TERRA NDVI and AQUA NDVI.

TERRA
crosses the euatorial line on the lit side around 10:30 local time
AQUA does the same around 14:30 local time

Visual is pretty much what is sounds like
721 makes recently burned areas redish and has better water contrast, so fires and floods are more visible.
NDVI has the green color strongly correlated with the density and state of vegetation.
