Is WWJava able to load terrain data at the moment like ww.net?

yes, you zoom in close enough and you will see the 3D land features.

How do I make the terrain more apparent? I remember in worldwind, there is an option, or API call to magnify the effect. Somehow Patrick's screenshot in this thread -> http://forum.worldwindcentral.com/showthread.php?t=9572 has a more obvious terrain elevation as compared to mine.

Thats just the Mont Blanc ;)
There is a vertical exaggeration factor somewhere in WWJ but it has to be set programmaticaly for now. Default is 1x.

Be patient with WWJ downloading... its not very fast sometimes.
