Hi,
First post! I downloaded V1.2d yesterday hoping to see some awesome photos, but it ain't happening. I must have something basic set wrong. I followed the noob FAQ, but no luck.

My system:
XPPro, SP1
DirectX 9.0b
Athlon XP2000
1 GB RAM
120 GB HDU
NVidia GeForce4 MX440 (64MB)
DSL

So after I installed WW, I selected USGS-1m, and then something started downloading, and that lasted over an hour. The globe had disappeared so I selected 'Places', and typed in a city/state, but when I tried to zoom in, I just got a greenish screen with some place names, but no detail or photos. When I select Urban Area, the program seems to change it to Digital Ortho? I can't find any user manual anywhere that explains how to use these features and what the performance tradeoffs are like for the various options. Which seems amazing for a project of this magnitude.

I just want to start out and look at some detailed city shots, I don't care about topology or 3D for now. Can anyohe give me a clue?

While I'm not sure it will solve your problem, World Wind requires either 'Managed' DirectX 9.0b or the generic DirectX 9.0c

Also .NET 1.1 is required.

Yeah, I've got those. They are included with the WW download. Know of any online documentation that explains the nuances of this beast? Thanks....

I have been expereincing the same problems. With the Alaska add on I now have a 1.6 gig program on my computer that just spins a globe. When will the " try again in two minutes server problem get fixed?"

Anyway, I have the Nvidia 400 mx mx 64 meg card. It should work?

The server is working, and has been for more than a month now.
You might have the decimal coma "," instead of a decimal dot "."
problem, described elsewhere in this forum but not in the FAQ.
