Edge distortion

Using the USGS photos, in a few places I get severe distortion at the edges of some individual plates. By that , I'm referring to where individual images are stitched together. It has the look of a particular area being deep in a hole.

I'd attach a screen capture in the form of a jpg file, but haven't figured out how to attach anything to this message.

I'm guessing that perhaps the particular image in question may be one that is closer in than adjacent areas. Does this happen?

I'm having the same problem, even after the 1.2d patch.

Any solutions?
