I thought the images were in the 1998 and forward but when I checked at an old residence I lived at, it didn't show any homes on the street. I moved there in 1998 and the home I lived in was at least 2 years old but there were many other homes there.

Anyone know how old the data/images are?

And how often do they get updated - is this an on-going process? The east cost of Australia seems to be fairly up to date.

Which data/images are you refering too?

USGS 1-meter is ~ 10 years or so old
USGS Urban varies.. ~ 5 or so years and younger

LandSat is "ongoing" but the window for it's use im image taking is small so not anything constant.

SRTM (Elevation data) I am not sure but I think that is about 10+ years old .. but how often does the Earth change elevations on us?

More often than you'd think. I swear the downhill to work in the morning turn to an uphill every evening. I'm sure of it!

Ahh, I had thought it was in the '90s when they had done that.

I was just surprised. I would have thought that the images would be well under 5 years. I zoomed in on my last home/neighborhood and it wasn't there and I moved there in 1998.
