You folks in Australia probably know all about this, but we just found out that Australia's most popular magazine for computer enthusiasts, APC, prominently featured World Wind on the cover (http://www.apcmag.com/apc/v3.nsf/dir/latest) of its December 2004 issue. They also included World Wind on a DVD (http://www.apcmag.com/apc/v3.nsf/dir/cd) distributed with the magazine.

APC editors called World Wind "[o]ne of the most extraordinary software initiatives from NASA," and said it "has taken geeks around the world by storm." "You've never seen the world like this ... Prepare to be amazed."

In late October, NASA Portal (www.nasa.gov) editors covered World Wind in their "Life on Earth" feature. ("NASA Computer Program is 'Hot Download' on the Internet" (http://www.nasa.gov/vision/earth/environment/World_Wind.html))

If you know of any other World Wind media mentions we haven't already listed (http://learn.arc.nasa.gov/worldwind/press.html), please add them to this thread!

Impressive. Especially without coming here to ask questions ;)

Hmm, wonder how we could drop some hints into the educational puplications..

It is a pretty amazing program, you should all be proud of yourselves :)

I'm holding off telling my school until the servers are fine..I'm taking pity :P

But in terms of spreading the word, once everything's able to cope with the load then a big announcement could be posted asking everyone to spread the word..should work pretty well. Appears to be working so far, anyway :o

Well you have been featured in the Nerdvana section in the largest norwegian net magazine for techies:

digi.no (http://digi.no/php/art.php?id=110776)

The Norwegian Space Centre has linked up the story in their news section:

Hold off a little more! I have to move the server to a new machine, and install a
few disks (with Linux) here and there.

PC World Komputer, the Polish edition of PC World magazine, plans to review World Wind in its next issue, and to include the software in DVDs/CDs distributed with the magazine. Their readership is approximately 100,000. :)
