After two downloads with the same result, that is, "the ZIP archive is corrupt", the question arises, is it really corrupt or am I doing sometingh stupid?
The downloaded ZIP is 259.232 bytes long.
thanks,
A. Regl
PS: I used the download from "opensource...". Currently, I am trying the other one.

Try taking an MD5 checksum.
MD5 Checksums
I used the command line tool downloaded from : http://www.md5summer.org
1.2c

My mirror - http://www.twobeds.com/nasa/worldwind-1_2.zip (I think that's the filename, maybe 1_2c or something) - checksums the same as Llynix's does, so try downloading that one :)

Large Zip files often get corrupt when up-/downloading due to tiny packetlosses or variation during transfer. I suggest that you use a downloadmanager which will ensure that you get the exact right copy down to the last byte.
Flashget (http://www.flashget.com) is a jolly good, free downloadmanager that I've been using for several years. It also speeds downloads up significantly from some websites/ftps.
You could try using WinRar. It seems to be more tolerant to errors than winzip.
On many occasions, for me anyway, it has worked where Winzip has failed

Also, make sure your temporary internet files cache is large enough to store the download.
