View Full Version : Non-optimal image resolution selection

Sometimes, when I zoom out by a tiny amount, the display zooms out, then an instant later, blurs slightly. Going out on a limb, it appears as if WorldWind first rescales the existing image to the requested zoom level, then switches to a lower resolution image which produces less detail when displayed at the same zoom level.

Here's how I can recreate this on my system:
1) Start WorldWind fullscreen on a 1400 x 1050 display.
2) Display worldwind://goto/world=Earth&lat=34.08884&lon=-117.72189&alt=9719
3) Select USGS Urban Area Ortho
4) Refresh View (optional)
5) Press "End" (zoom out) once

I've seen this happen in many other views and images, this is just one way to recreate. I'm using WorldWind 1.3.2039.24869, Windows XP SP2 + latest fixes on an IBM ThinkPad T40 with an ATI Mobility/Radeon 9000 video adapter and a 1400x1050 LCD display.

Are there any configuration options that control how WorldWind selects the underlying image resolution to use with a particular zoom level ?
