I'd like to be able to link WorldWind with a traceroute (Much like VisualRoute) and IP address mappings to countries/regions much like the functionality that ARIN.NET, APNIC.NET and RIPE.NET offer.

Also, the ability to view spam and virus maps.

Additionally, being able to see climate changes/snapshots/anims in gaseous emissions (CO2, CO, CH4, N2O etc.. - perhaps from the Rapid Fire Modis module).

I asked (http://learn.arc.nasa.gov/worldwind/forums/index.php?showtopic=134) for the traceroute feature a while back and it's now on the SourceForge feature request list (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?atid=524838&group_id=69528&func=browse) but at the lowest priority. Good to know at least one other person wants it tho.

Isn't there a program which does this already, net something, can't remember offhand?

There are several actually. I have a script that can plot where your IP is.. well, at least that server that serves your IP.

Indeed, there are some - I just thought it'd be kind of neat to see what you see in the movies - with your traceroute tracking across the globe and then zeroing in on the destination - I guess that's just the g33k in me.

(But it'd be handy too).

:D

Also - maybe hooking in live weather satellite data feeds would be handy too...

You can get that from Modis as well.
