1628: Failed to complete installation

hi...i get that massage every time i try to update world wind. i downloaded world wind today and patch too. the program is perfect but the patch wont work.

The message recieved from the v1.2b to v1.2c patch installation. It states that the Installation Failed.

The version on NASA's site is 1.2.1734, which is one of two things:

1.A version previous to 1.2b, or

2. The actual updated version 1.2b, in which case, the patch would fail. Any ideas?

when I try to install the 1.2c patch i got the same error!

1.2.1734 is the updated (1.2c) version - I've got it :)

I couldnt apply the patch untill i had run the program with out the patch, then it seemed to work fine. i cant remember the error number i got though.

I didn't find a patch that doesn't use MSI in that link. I tried both of them, tried the step-by-step guides and I still can't patch it. I don't want to have to download the full setup just to update it to 1.2C and to see the UK as I'm only on 300K, and have 1GB bandwidth per day which is used by many other things.

Check Help>About - if you have 1.2.1734 then it's version 1.2c already.

What version number do you have?

Also, which file did you download and where from, and which patches?
