Hello,
how can I excerpt a large amount, about 5000, placenames by a script?
I tried to write a search script, but had a problem with the format of the placenames, simple text search doesn't help. The WWQuickfind of gillesk isn't working, I get only the error cordbg.exe !a 0x1044.

I would appreciate if someone could send me or post me a tool to either search the placename database without running World Wind or even better a tool wich runs on command line and writing the name including the coordinates in a file.

Thank you in advance for your help.

If you haven't seen the Wiki article on placename format, it might be helpful:

I know this page but I have a problem with the first byte which declares the length of the string, maybe PHP is not useful for this things.

Hello,
I finally solved the problem with the string length and made the script running. Thank you for your attention.
