I saw the models done at the Summer 2004 workshop - landmark buildings.

1. How do I get them into World Wind.
2. We have a lot of 3d models - bigger part of London.
3. Who else is interested in working on this type of application?
4. Our models are in .dgn format, easy to export to any standard (dwg, step, iges,dxf,3ds,stl, vrml, pdf 7). But how to get from there to dirtct_x files - any clever shareware around?
5. We can't just give away our models - is there a forum for some kind of sharing community?

I'm wondering about this too. Found them on the worldwind.arc.nasa.gov site the other day, hidden away.

Another project that got sidetracked, if you post a feature request at http://issues.worldwind.arc.nasa.gov it may jog the devs memory.

I'm reading in alot of sights that WW is capable of displaying 3d models so how do I get them in?
There is an xls file also on that page, what is it for?

That is the closest you will get for documentation for models. :)

Those models are also .wire files, and they need to be .x or .dae - good luck. :)

I actively work in supporting the models and related stuff. You can read my efforts here: http://whatnick.blogspot.com/2007/02/sydney-landmarks.html

If you want to make people pay for your models, here are some ideas.
1: Set up a https-auth based server and sell views of you model. Worldwind can now download models of a server.
2: This is not done yet but ... make password protected zip of your models.

Taking away money there are few sites where you can get models to download for every n-models you upload.

Blender does a decent job converting models by the way.
