Hi,

I'm completely new here. I was just used to georegister maps and make mozaiks to make them work in a gps-package, collected thousands of Russian maps, combined everything with SRTM and now you have this stunning interface.

I wonder, is there a simple methode to convert such material (mostly in ECW and SID) to ww? (I'm not very familiar with programming!)

Hi,

Material I use is legal to me, but for much I don't have the rights to re-publish.... So the last part will be difficult (like always). Some home-made vector-data (shp) in combination with GOTOPO or ETM+ etc would be possible in ECW I think. (Have to read firts the conditions about such basic material). Pity that my DCW-data is partially corrupted, otherwise I could complete the basic-material as 1 big image.
So if you're intressted in some area, let my look what I can do for you. (will need your adress because 500k-space will be not enough)... meanwhile I have to study on GDAL... Pity it is not a solution like importing Manifold-maps, or would that be possible? In that case there are many more options!!

Thanks

I've got a Manifold (VB)script to render WW image tilesets from a Manifold component. It's working fine for me, but it's not really tidy or well designed - it works though. I'm happy to help you if you want to use it.

Hi Michael,

Do you think that I as a simple user of Manifold can use your script?
Combined with the recent Global-mapper solution for cal-files of Touratech, this would be a solution to introduce mozaiks of higly detailed Russian maps into this application. If you're willing to help me--- you must have somewhere my email-adress when I posted some questions about cal-files...

Nice to hear from the master on other locations!
