I have installed World Win version 1.4 on my laptop. In the 1.3 version the landsat and usgs
icons were visible and available. I do not have a firewall installed. I do not see the menu items in question in the layer manager. How does one access the Landsat and USGS maps?

Are you using Windows Vista?

This thread seems to have petered out, but, I'm having exactly the same problem. Have reinstalled several times, yes I'm using Vista, everything else seems to be working fine. but, I had World Wind on another computer a few years back, and I know I'm missing many of the layer options. (Landsatt, etc.). The install seemed to go OK with no msgs., etc. Any thoughts? You can reply to rlh1138@comcast.net as well as here.

Thx,

I tried to look at historical maps of Yosemite and got the same problem. Searching on the internet I found that images.xml was supposed to be missing, but I had @images.xml that pointed to http://worldwind25.arc.nasa.gov/layerConfig/earthimages.xml url. After downloading and saving the files into "C:\Program Files (x86)\NASA\World Wind 1.4\Config\Earth" folder topo maps started working.

I'm wondering noe why i can't download image landsat 7 ETM+ completely from the USGS website? Is tat any additional requirements needed in order to download it completely? i only can download the offered image till 99.9% and then stop permanently.

I installed World Wind 1.4 on my Windows XP(Media Center) SP3 and the is no NLT Landsat or USGS Digital Ortho buttons on the toolbar or anywhere else? I've been looking throughout the forum and can't find any solutions. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Also, I have tried to use the walkthough tours to no avail. The link on World Wind Central - nothing happens & the one other link sends you to a website(forgot the name) but can't find the tour - tried searching for it but nothing came back as a result.
Thanks

The main server for the legacy imagery at NASA is down right now. I don't think very much is going to work.

James_In_Utah -Thanks for the response.
Do you know if that would have any affect on the installation process? Reason I ask is if you look at the picture of the toolbar on World Wind Central there are 25 icons on the toolbar but I only have 18 icons - no USGS or NLT anywhere. My computer is all up to date and there should not be any reason I don't have those features unless it was a bad install?
Thanks Again

If you take a look at the xml files in config\earth, for the layer you are talking about, you might be able to spot where the icon is downloaded from the server, at leat the first time it is opened.
